ARSENAL goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has explained why he was pictured among Saints fans at Wembley on Sunday while wearing fancy dress.

The England international was seen dressed as Hagrid from Harry Potter during Southampton's 1-0 win over Leeds United in the Championship playoff final.

Ramsdale was there to support his "best friend" and Saints loanee David Brooks, who started the final but saw his afternoon cut short.

The Wales international was forced off at 1-0 after dislocating his shoulder following an awkward fall.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Ramsdale explained: “It was a special day on Sunday, going to watch my best friend David Brooks at Wembley.

“Anytime one of our friends gets to Wembley we do fancy dress. It’s out there, it’s different but it’s something we do.

“We have won three times from it. We are not going to break a tradition now.

“To see what he has done over the past few years with what he’s been through - to see him coming off and how distraught he was, but to get the win was superb.

“Now (I'm) up to see him get married in a few days.”
