Former semi-professional footballer Rebecca Cork has been appointed Assistant General Manager at Paultons Golf Centre.

The 25-year-old Southampton resident kicked off her golf career at Stoneham Golf Club after an ACL injury.

She brings forward her initiative, a women-only Balls & Bubbles event at the Top Tracer Driving Range, which saw over 30 women attend during its debut night.

Cork, who has been an advocate for women's sports, previously captained Solent Women's Football team to a national final while pursuing her Sports Marketing degree at Solent University.

Rebecca said: "Working in the golf industry is fantastic. People are really welcoming, it is a great environment to be in. I am passionate about providing as many opportunities as possible for people to try the sport in a friendly relaxed space.

"With the driving range and academy course, Paultons is ideal for that, and I am excited to have the freedom to try new things here."

General manager Molly Pavey said: "Rebecca has an infectious personality and her dedication to creating safe spaces for people to come and try golf for the first time, without any judgement, is really inspiring.

"The Balls & Bubbles night was the perfect combination of instruction, fun and fizz. I can’t wait to see how this night develops."
