AS the summer transfer window's official opening draws near, Saints continue to be linked with several new names ahead of their Premier League return.

Southampton's recruitment chiefs will be busy trying to bolster the squad to boost their chances of remaining in the top flight.

The Daily Echo has already reported that Saints are in "early discussions" over a move for Argentine youngster Jerónimo Dómina and progress in their bid to re-sign Adam Lallana.

The St Mary's side have also made an attempt to sign Flynn Downes and Ryan Fraser permanently after their successful loan spells.

The latest on Ryan Fraser permanent deal

Fraser has reportedly agreed terms with Southampton over a permanent switch to the South Coast.

The Atheltic report that details still need to be finalised with the winger's parent club Newcastle United.

Fraser, 30, made 42 Championship appearances under former Scotland teammate Martin having been consigned to training with Newcastle's youth team before the switch.

When speaking to the Daily Echo in the aftermath of Southampton's promotion, Fraser insisted he would do everything he could to secure a permanent move.

Celtic to compete for Stuart Armstrong free transfer

Scottish champions Celtic have reportedly joined the race to sign Stuart Armstrong following the announcement of his exit from Saints.

Armstrong made 144 appearances for the Bhoys before joining Southampton in 2018.

According to Football Insider, Celtic are plotting to re-sign the 32 year old, who has been called up to Steve Clarke's EURO 2024 Scotland squad.

Armstrong made 42 appearances under Martin as Southampton won promotion back to the Premier League.

Southampton are reportedly showing an an interest in signing Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski, 24.

Martin's side will likely be in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer following Gavin Bazunu's long-term injury and Alex McCarthy's potential departure.

Di Marzo are reporting that PAOK's Kotarski is one man who could be between the sticks in the Premier League next season.

Their report states that the Greek side value the 2000-born goalkeeper at around €10million. Parma, Inter and Augsburg are also reportedly interested. 

Kotarski played 52 games for PAOK during the 2023/24 campaign, conceding 53 and keeping 16 clean sheets.

Saints interested in Tunisian international midfielder

An unconfirmed report from Arabic outlet Al-Araby claims that Southampton have held an interest in midfielder Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane for some time.

The Tunisian international currently plays for Hungarian giants Ferencevaros, where he won the league title this past season.

The 24 year old scored twice and provided six assists in 23 league games for Fradi, while also gaining experience in European competitions.

Ben Romdhane came through at serial Tunisian champions Espérance de Tunis before making a switch to Europe in the summer.

Southampton are in the market for midfielders this summer following Stuart Armstrong's departure and the end of Downes and Joe Rothwell's loans.
