FOR many of Southampton's international stars, the season has now officially ended, while for some, there is still more football to come.

Saints have three players preparing to represent their country at EURO 2024 and many who played for their country against teams who will compete in Germany.

Here is a full rundown of how Southampton's internationals got on during the break...

Scotland

Che Adams was among the goals during Scotland's 2-0 win over Gibraltar in a pre-European Championship friendly.

He came on from the bench to do so. He also made a substitute appearance against Finland, with who Scotland drew 2-2.

Stuart Armstrong played no part in either friendly but returned to full training on Tuesday, June 11.

Adams, who is yet to agree new terms with Saints, believes this Scotland side have a chance to make history by becoming the first squad to progress past the group stage.

Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland and Shea Charles were beaten heavily by Spain as they ramped up preparations for EURO 2024 with a 5-1 win.

Luis de la Fuente's side ended the game with 79 per cent possession, prompting Charles to suggest the defeat could help him prepare for playing in the Premier League.

Charles' side enjoyed a much more successful evening on Monday as they rounded out their international window with a comfortable 2-0 win over Andorra.

Poland

Although he missed Poland's first friendly, a 3-1 win against Ukraine, Jan Bednarek still made manager Michal Probierz's final squad.

He did however return to the starting lineup and played a full 90 minutes as they ended preparations with a late 2-1 win over Turkey.

Republic of Ireland

Will Smallbone's fantastic form continued as he set up Adam Idah for Ireland's opening goal in their 2-1 win over Hungary.

The win marked interim boss John O'Shea's first as senior coach. Speaking after the win, Smallbone explained why he believes he owes the former Manchester United defender a lot.

He said: "I can’t thank John enough for everything he’s done for me throughout my short career so far, and hopefully for a long time to come.

“I’m really happy for him to get the win. I think he set us up really well and you can see his qualities as a manager coming to fruition now."

Things were much more difficult on Monday evening for Ireland as they lost 3-0 to Portugal in Aveiro.

Goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu did not make the squad, due to his long-term injury, while Ryan Manning was also left out.

Ghana

Despite his poor form at club level this season, Kamaladeen Sulemana was recalled by Ghana for their World Cup qualifiers against Central African Republic and Chad.

The winger started their 4-3 win over Central African Republic, earning his first cap for 12 months in the process.

Kamaldeen had a chance to score for Otto Addo's Black Stars on his return, but could not keep his effort under the bar.
