Saudi club reportedly make late swoop for Che Adams transfer

The 27 year old is out of contract at St Mary's this month and is free to discuss contracts with clubs anywhere in the world.

Saints have already confirmed they are in talks with Adams over a new deal and have made their offer to his camp.

However, Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest and Wolves have also been linked with discussions over a move this month.

A new report has surfaced suggesting the Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab are hoping to persuade Adams to join them.

A significant number of footballers have been making moves to the Arabian Gulf with lucrative contracts on offer.

Croatian star Ivan Rakitic and Belgian international Yannick Carrasco are among the European players at Al-Shabab this season.

They finished eighth in the division, with Neymar's Al-Hilal in first place and ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo's Ar-Nassr in second.

The report also adds that former Arsenal man Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is a striker target for Al-Shabab, alongside Adams.

The club are reportedly hoping to bring in two big names this summer, with Aubameyang scoring 17 league goals for Marseille this season.

Adams netted 16 goals in the Championship as Saints won promotion back to the Premier League via the playoffs.

Saints boss Russell Martin wants to keep the Scotland international, who is in Germany for EURO 2024, at the club.
