SHOLING FC have continued their busy summer with the signing of midfielder Charlie Gunson.
Gunson, who earned promotion last season to the National League South with Salisbury FC, will further improve the Boatmen's squad ahead of the new campaign.
The 27 year old insisted he is looking forward to being a part of a "really exciting project" at the Southern League Premier South side.
Looking forward to playing under Paul Doswell, Gunson said: "I am delighted to be here and delighted to get the deal done.
"I have spoken to the manager over the last few weeks and the project they are building here is looking like a really exciting project for next season.
"I like to get forward as a midfield player, to get goals and assists. So hopefully, I can bring a lot of assists next season, some set pieces, and just bring some goals."
Gunson played with midfielder Jake Hesketh and Jake Flannigan during his time in the youth set-up at Southampton.
He added: "I know a few of the boys from playing with them at Saints when I was younger.
"I know a few of the other boys from the local area from playing non-league as well. We have got a good squad here, so hopefully we can do something next season.
"I live just five minutes around the corner from the ground. So, it is a good one for my family to come and watch. I am really looking forward to it."
