SAINTS legend Rickie Lambert is set for an evening in front of supporters in Romsey for the first time since retiring.

Lambert scored 117 goals in 235 appearances for the St Mary's side as he helped fire them from League One to the Premier League - and won England caps.

The 42 year old will recount tales from the dressing room and more at Kimbridge Barn in Romsey, on Thursday, June 27. Tickets are available here

Lambert will partake in a Q&A with participants, after naming his ultimate Saints XI with host BBC Radio Solent's Adam Blackmore.

Speaking to the Daily Echo, Lambert said: "I am really looking forward to meeting some Saints fans and telling my story.

"I'll be talking about the experiences of going from League One with Southampton, all the way to the Premier League.

"Adam is brilliant at what he does. I've given him a lot of stories that he'll help me tell that I haven't shared before.

"He'll pull things out of the bag that I'm not expecting and we might have a special guest there as well."

Blackmore added: "I am very excited to be doing this with Rickie and am chuffed he has asked me, having commentated on so many of his goals.

"Seeing him go from the Football League to score for England, he is a wonderful footballer. In time, we will realise what a giant he was for Saints.

"He has had a huge impact on this football club in the 21st century and I am going to eke stories out of him - everything that went on.

"The Nicola Cortese era, the exodus when he left in 2014, his time at Liverpool - and I want to get behind the goalscorer and share some moments of emotion."

The evening is scheduled to start at 7pm for standard ticket holders - priced at £25. A VIP ticket option exists for £52 with a 6:30pm start.
