YOUNG full-back Matt Carson has joined Torquay United on a free transfer following his departure from Southampton's Academy.
Carson, 20, has joined former Southampton man Paul Wotton's side on a one-year contract ahead of the 2024/25 National League South campaign.
Carson joined Saints from Glentoran in 2020 and has represented Northern Ireland at under-16, under-18 and under-19 levels.

He was a part of Southampton's under-18 Premier League South title-winning team in 2021/22 and has previously been linked with a move to Derby County.
Carson spent a brief spell on loan at National League South Braintree Town during the 2023/24 season.
He played seven times for The Iron, scoring in their 1-1 draw at Aveley FC in September.
