TOTTENHAM will reportedly try to 'thrash out' a deal with Saints to swap midfielder Charly Alcaraz with defender Joe Rodon.
Saints have been linked with interest in Welsh international Rodon, 26, who spent last season on loan at promotion rivals Leeds United.
Argentine youth international Alcaraz, meanwhile, spent the second half of the 2023/24 campaign with Juventus after falling out of favour at St Mary's.
The 21 year old's future remains uncertain after Saints slapped a £40million valuation on him in January, before the club's promotion.
The Sun report that Spurs want to sell Rodon this summer and are interested in Alcaraz, who impressed during his first Premier League stint.
They state the London club will attempt a swap deal, with Rodon's valuation rated at £10million and Alcaraz said to be £30million.
Alcaraz made 12 appearances for Juventus - suffering an injury during the season - and laid on one assist for his teammates.
Having joined a struggling Saints in January 2023, the youngster went on to score four goals in 18 Premier League appearances.
Alcaraz's role in Russell Martin's high-possession side is less clear due to the tactical demands on the number 10 and forwards.
Former Swansea centre-back Rodon has no future at Spurs but has racked up 15 Premier League and 95 Championship appearances already.
The Sun report also details Saints interest in Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, 24, with the Black Cats demanding up to £20million.
The St Mary's side - whose head of recruitment is former Sunderland chief Darren Mowbray - are reportedly only willing to pay half of that.
