MIDFIELDER Angel Waruih will join Eastleigh upon the expiration of his contract at Brentford on Monday, July 1.

The 20 year old came up through the ranks at Plymouth Argyle, where he spent 13 years before switching to the Bees.

He was named in Plymouth’s EFL Trophy squad twice during the 2021/22 season and featured in their game against Newport County.

The central midfielder then moved to Brentford for the 2022/23 season and made six appearances in Brentford B’s Premier League Cup-winning campaign.

Upon joining the Spitfires, Waruih said: "It feels great (to have signed). I'm delighted to be here.

“I’m very excited. I can’t wait to get started, see the boys, and see where this season goes.

"The first thing (I noticed here) is that the pitch and the stadium are nice.

"I didn't think the stadium was going to be that big. I'm not used to playing in places with a stand.

"Once I realised there was interest coming from Eastleigh, I watched an interview when the gaffer was appointed.

"He explained that he wants his side to play the type of football that gets fans excited to come and watch.

"That is a big factor for me, not just to excite the fans, but if the fans are enjoying it, we will be enjoying it as well."

Asked for an overview of his game, he explained: "I like to get up and down the pitch, box-to-box. I'm energetic.

"I like a challenge. I'll be up for the battle and sometimes adding a bit of flair.

"I'm very excited to see where the season goes. Hopefully, there will be some great memories."

Waruih becomes manager Kelvin Davis' third summer signing, alongside Deji Sotona and Luis Fernandez.

Saints legend Davis signed a three-year deal at the Spitfires and is expected to make many signings this summer.
