AS the Premier League season draws nearer, Southampton continue to be linked with numerous new names.
The recently promoted Saints have already completed a deal to sign Adam Lallana while Taylor Harwood-Bellis will make his loan move permanent today.
Former Burnley left-back Charlie Taylor is also expected to join Russell Martin's squad ahead of their return to the top flight.
Here are the latest rumours involving Saints as reported elsewhere...
Saints to move for another of Martin's favourites
Southampton are reportedly "willing" to stump up the £35million required to sign Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley.
Martin is a long-term admirer of the 23 year old having previously worked with him at MK Dons in League One.
The Danish international enjoyed a fantastic 2023/24 season, scoring 19 goals and providing 18 assists in 49 matches across all competitions.
The Daily Record report that Saints are keen to sign O'Riley, who Martin has previously described as a 'manager's dream'.
Southampton are in the market for new midfielders following Stuart Armstrong's decision to leave and the expiration of Flynn Downes and Joe Rothwell's loans.
Southampton priced out of move for Championship winger?
Saints will reportedly 'back away' from a deal to sign Sunderland's Jack Clarke due to the Black Cats demanding a high fee.
The Daily Echo have previously reported that Clarke is on Southampton's list of summer transfer targets.
The Sun now suggest that the South Coast side are unwilling to meet the £18million asking price Sunderland have set for the 23 year old.
Former Spurs and Leeds winger Clarke scored 15 Championship goals by February before an injury ruled him out for a month.
The same report suggests that Saints are also unwilling to match Sunderland's asking price for goalkeeper Anthony Patterson.
Lyanco closing in on Brazilian homecoming
Centre-back Lyanco is reportedly set to complete a move to Atlético Minero, ending his three-year stint as a Southampton player.
Numerous outlets in Brazil have reported that Lyanco has opted to join Atlético Minero over a return to Botafogo, his former youth side.
The defender is expected to land in Brazil this week in order to complete a move back to his home country.
Lyanco previously rejected a permanent switch to Al-Gharafa after spending last season on loan with the Qatari club.
Southampton had accepted a £4million fee from the Qatari Stars League side, however, Lyanco was believed to favour a move to Europe or Brazil.
