NEW Eastleigh signing Tyrese Shade hopes to replicate his success at Solihull Moors last season.
The Saint Kitts and Nevis international has joined the Spitfires on a free transfer following his departure from Swindon Town.
He spent last season on loan at Solihull Moors, who reached the Vanarama National League play-off final, losing to Bromley on penalties.
In his first interview with the club, the 24 year old winger admitted that Eastleigh boss Kelvin Davis convinced him to join from their first phone call.
He said: "I am kind of relieved (to get the deal done.) It’s been open for a little while now, I’m happy to finally be an Eastleigh player now.
“My time at Solihull Moors came when I wasn’t aware of it, but I enjoyed my time there - we got to the playoff final.
“Hopefully we can do that here again this season. I’ve loved my time in the (National) League.
He continued: “I’ve been speaking to him (Kelvin Davis) over a long period of time. Initially, it took a while to get done. But from the first phone call, I was convinced.
"Now that I am here, I am ready for a new challenge. It took a little while to get done, I was speaking to the gaffer over the phone.
"Seeing the programme, setup and what he (Davis) will bring to the club excited me so much.
"I would like to say I’m an exciting player who can play down either side or through the middle.
“I like to get on the ball and excite people. I like to go past players and, hopefully, I’ll get a lot of goals this season. I can’t wait to get started. I’m ready to go.”
Shade becomes Eastleigh's fourth signing of the summer, following deals for Luis Fernandez, Deji Satona and Angel Waruih.
The Spitfires are expected to have a busy summer ahead of the National League campaign getting underway on Saturday, August 10.
The Silverlake Stadium side will discover their National League fixture schedule on Wednesday, July 10.
