FANTASY Premier League have revealed the prices for Saints players in the 2024/25 iteration of the popular football management game.

FPL is a free-to-play online football game played by more than 10 million players each season, tracking players' real-life performances.

Fantasy managers can choose a squad made up of 15 players from the Premier League, with no more than three from each club.

Saints players are back in the game after a season in the Championship, which ended in promotion via the play-offs at Wembley.

Here is how the official Premier League game has priced their assets for the new campaign...

Our verdict

Saints players have been given low prices, on the whole, this season, suggesting the game's makers do not particularly fancy them to be big point-scorers.

They have a hard start to the season at Newcastle United but six relatively favourable fixtures out of the next seven to catch the eyes of FPL players.

Adam Armstrong is Southampton's most expensive asset at £5.5m and this reflects his 24 goals and 12 assists last season and his status as penalty-taker.

While we believe there are better strikers available at his price point (Joao Pedro, Brighton), he is a good, cheap enabler who will be in a few teams on day one.

Ross Stewart is one we are keeping an eye on, coming in as the cheapest forward in the game (£4.5m) and set to play a big role this season.

If Stewart can keep fit and make the step up to the Premier League, he could represent exceptional value - although, they are big ifs.

We would steer clear of the goalkeepers and midfielders as there is simply better value elsewhere in the game but defenders are interesting.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis (£4m) has already been selected by 15 per cent of players and is a guaranteed starting defender at the cheapest price.

Charlie Taylor (£4m) is also a Fantasy favourite but we are not sure about his game time yet so Harwood-Bellis looks like a safer bet.
