SAINTS hero Maya Yoshida has issued a warm welcome to the club's new signing, Yukinari Sugawara, with a classy video message.

Sugawara revealed that he spoke to 35 year old Yoshida, who made 194 appearances for Saints, ahead of making the move to England.
Yoshida - who also emerged from J League Nagoya Grampus before moving to the Netherlands - advised Sugawara of Southampton's strengths.
The former skipper how now issued Sugawara a video message via the club's social media account and said: "Hello, Yukinari. Welcome to the club.

"First of all, congratulations on your move - I think it's a great choice and as we have already discussed, the club is very welcoming.
"They know Japanese mentality and you can improve a lot on the pitch and off the pitch as well. I'm sure you can bring great energy and atmosphere.
"Enjoy your time there, it's really precious. The Premier League is one of the best and Southampton is a really great club.
"I was there for a long time so anytime you have any questions or problems, just call me wherever I am, I am always with you.
"I hope I can come to a game and watch you after our season is over - good luck," Yoshida continued.
"To the fans, please look after him very well. He is a nice guy and a nice boy. He comes from the same club as mine.
"He took the same step as mine to Holland and now he comes to you in Southampton. Please enjoy the Premier League and good luck.
"I am always following you guys on the TV from my LA sunshine! See you later guys."
Sugawara, who has already joined manager Russell Martin's side for pre-season training and could play on Friday, smiled through the video.
He then responded: "That's the first time he has been speaking to me in English so I have to improve my English more!
"I will call him later and say 'I love you,' or something," Sugawara quipped.
