DEFENDER Jan Bednarek is back with Saints after an extended break over the summer following the UEFA European Championship.

The Polish international has been pictured at Staplewood ahead of Southampton's trip to Spain for a pre-season training camp.

The 28 year old was not a part of Southampton's squad on Friday night as they started their pre-season preparations with a 7-1 win over National League Eastleigh.

Bednarek had been with Poland at EURO 2024, playing all three games as they were eliminated in the group stage.

He will now take part in Southampton's warm-weather training camp in Girona, where they will play two behind-closed-doors friendlies against Bordeaux and Montpellier.Ā
