SOUTHAMPTON FC Women will start their 2024/25 Championship campaign with a home fixture against recently relegated Bristol City.

Remi Allen's side will welcome the Robins, who finished bottom of the Women's Super League last season, on the weekend of 7/8 September.

Saints then face a long trip up north to face Sunderland on the weekend of 14/15 September before hosting Blackburn Rovers (21/22 September) and Sheffield United (28/29 September).

Following Reading's withdrawal from the league, only 11 teams are competing in the Barclays Women's Championship this season.

That leaves Saints without a game on the weekends of 5/6 October and 1/2 March.

London City, backed by Michele Kang, are early favourites to win the Championship this season after making serious moves in the transfer window.

Saints will round out their season with a game against Charlton Athletic for the second consecutive season.

The south coast club will be looking to build upon last year's record-breaking campaign, which saw them achieve a club-record league finish and point total.
