SAINTS boss Russell Martin is hopeful Kamaldeen Sulemana and Sekou Mara will "be okay" after they were withdrawn at Oxford United.

Kamaldeen, 22, was seen in a boot outside the Kassam Stadium on Wednesday evening having been forced off in the first half.

He suffered an ankle knock after a collision with an Oxford United player during Southampton's 2-0 pre-season defeat.

Kamaldeen was eventually replaced by Sam Edozie after Saints continued with 10 players on the pitch, conceding in the meantime.

Frenchman Mara, 22, was withdrawn midway through the first half when he rolled his ankle just inside the box and was replaced by Tyler Dibling.

Speaking after the match, Martin told the Daily Echo: "They were both contacts. Hopefully, they're not too bad. They're both ankle rolls.

"They're both walking out of here and they both walked off the pitch, so hopefully they'll be okay."

Mara and Kamaldeen could miss Southampton's fifth pre-season friendly, when they visit Millwall at The Den on Saturday, August 3 (1pm).
