Fareham's own Paul Fullick, a lower leg amputee and member of Team BRIT, has earned another trophy following his latest racetrack venture.

Team BRIT is globally unique, being composed entirely of disabled racing drivers.

On August 10, Paul, together with his teammate Aaron Morgan, finished third in class during the fifth round of the British Endurance Championship.

Morgan, paralyzed due to a motocross accident, initiated the race for the duo.

Shortly after the start, he faced adversity with a puncture but was able to rejoin swiftly.

Morgan then accomplished a superb comeback, advancing the team to first place.

Fullick took over the wheel, driving brilliantly despite enduring some unresolved technical issues, and they ended with a commendable third place finish.

Earlier this racing season, the pair scored spectacularly with a second place at Silverstone in June and first place in April.

They race using the team's cutting-edge hand control technology, designed to enable disabled drivers to compete on a par with able-bodied racers.

Following this weekend's satisfying results, Morgan and Fullick now rank fifth overall in championship points and second in their class.

Mr Fullick said: "A challenging, yet rewarding weekend! Aaron got us off to a great start as always, but a few laps in we got hit by another car at turn one, that caused some damage to our car. We came into the pits for a new tyre, but the tracking and electronics couldn’t be fixed, making the car somewhat challenging to drive!

"The crew aced the rest of our pit stops, we battled on for the rest of the race and finished with P3 – not the result we were aiming for, but very glad to make it to the end!

"It was great to see our teammates also do so well on the Sunday – here’s to the next race at Snetterton!"

Mr Fullick looks forward to returning to the track on September 14 at Snetterton.
