SAINTS midfielder Charly Alcaraz is reportedly set for a medical ahead of a move to Brazilian giants Flamengo.

Alcaraz, 21, did not make Southampton's squad for their 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Saints boss Russell Martin revealed that the club are willing to sell Alcaraz if the finances involved were good for all parties.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Alcaraz is set for a medical in London on Wednesday ahead of a return to South America.

His report adds that the former Racing midfielder will then travel to Brazil in order to complete the move.

Reports in Brazil have suggested a deal worth around 18 million Euros (£15million) and a player swap involving midfielder Victor Hugo, 20.

The Daily Echo have contacted sourced to confirm the report, with more to follow.
