Saints fans have the chance to get their hands on memorabilia as a former player puts several items up for auction today.

An iconic collection of sporting memorabilia is set to appear at auction today and tomorrow, hosted by Graham Budd Auctions.

The collection comprises sporting memorabilia across cricket, golf, rugby, tennis, Olympic Games and football – including memorabilia from former Saints star Joe Kirkup.

The football highlights include the Joe Kirkup collection, from the legendary 60s footballer who played for West Ham United, Chelsea and Southampton.

Kirkup joined Southampton in 1967 after playing for a year at Chelsea.

During his tenure with the Saints, Kirkup, a full back, made 193 appearances and scored four goals.

He was a member of the team that won the 1965 European Cup Winners' Cup during his time with West Ham.

“It’s always a genuine pleasure when these items come direct from the player, and there is, of course, no better provenance, and that means everything in the auction world. We're expecting a lot of interest in these historic items.”
