SAINTS boss Russell Martin revealed Ross Stewart will be in the squad to face Everton in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
Stewart is in contention for the squad against Manchester United on Saturday, however, Martin insisted he will need to be patient.
The 28 year old has not played since his substitute cameo at West Brom in the play-off semi-final back in May.
Southampton have been cautious with his return to fitness during pre-season after he suffered a minor injury setback.

Martin told the Daily Echo: “Ross will be in the squad on Tuesday. He’s looking brilliant. He’s been in a good place now for a couple of weeks.
"There is a temptation to unleash him. But we have a lot of players who will be frustrated that they are not involved at the moment. Ross has to bide his time and be patient.
“He maybe be involved on Saturday’s squad but he will definitely be in the squad on Tuesday. After that it will be up to him to make sure he stays there.”
