GOALS from Billy Waters, Will Smith and Adam Alimi-Adetoro handed Halifax a 3-1 National League victory over Eastleigh.
Waters put the hosts ahead with 27 minutes gone when he bundled home Adam Senior’s effort at the far post.
They doubled their tally on the stroke of half-time after Smith powered home a header from Florent Hoti’s cross.
The visitors attempted to force their way back into the game after the break but they were dealt a further blow when Alimi-Adetoro dispatched Adan George’s 61st-minute cross to make it 3-0.
Richard Brindley reduced the deficit with eight minutes remaining but there was no way back for the travelling Spitfires.
Speaking after the match, Eastleigh boss Kelvin Davis said: "I’ll be totally honest, that was a difficult day for us.
"Our guys have come up to support us and you want to send them away with something to be happy with.
"It is very frustrating when we don’t perform to our level and we don’t expose Halifax for their weaknesses.
"We allowed them to dominate the game in certain moments, not every moment, but certainly in the two boxes - that’s the disappointment."
Eastleigh have won 16 points from their first nine matches of the season and sixth in the table, following back-to-back defeats versus Southend and Halifax.
