MIDFIELDER Adam Lallana insisted Saints need to remain calm ahead of facing Ipswich Town in order to end their winless start to the campaign.

Southampton are yet to score a point in the Premier League this season - their only wins coming against Cardiff and Everton in the Carabao Cup.

They meet Ipswich Town this afternoon, another of the recently promoted teams, and will view this game as a good chance to earn a win in front of their home fans.

Kiernan McKenna's Tractor Boys did the double over Saints last season - winning 1-0 at St Mary's and 3-2 at Portman Road - as they beat them to an automatic promotion spot.

Southampton's last league win against Ipswich came all the way back in 2011 during their time in the Championship. Lallana scored twice in a 5-2 win.

Previewing their latest game against Ipswich, Lallana said: "We're in the league with the big boys now. You get punished. We have to learn fast.

"But that's fine. We've got a bit of time. We're still early on in the season. We'll keep working, I'm sure the result in the league is only around the corner.

"We just have to be calm and trust the process. We don't need to be over-eager. We just need to keep doing the basics really well. The goals will come and the win will come."
