SAINTS have confirmed the arrivals of Oli Newman and Tino Goremusandu on scholarship deals, as reported by the Daily Echo.

Newman and Goremusandu arrived on the south coast in recent weeks for the next chapter of their young careers.

Upon signing scholarship terms at Staplewood they have linked up with the Calum MacFarlane’s under-18s.

Saints beat a number of other Premier League clubs to the signing of highly rated youngster Newman upon his departure from Norwich City.

The Daily Echo understands Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Brighton were among the clubs keen to take Newman this summer and Saints are pleased with their efforts to land him.

The winger has represented Wales at youth international level, and already made his under-18s Premier League debut last season with Norwich.

Upon inking terms at Saints, he said: "The first time I came in I felt like it was the right club for me, it has a really good feel about it and in the past I've seen the opportunities it gives players."

Newman has already turned out for the under-18s this season. He featured in their 3-3 draw against Arsenal earlier this week.

Also joining the under-18s is midfielder Tino Goremusandu, who arrived following a successful trial period over the summer.

He has already made four appearances for Saints in the under-18s Premier League after impressing in pre-season.
