SAINTS have announced that former midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is set to make his return to St Mary's for a charity match next week.

Schneiderlin has joined the Saints Legends team that will take on Russell Martin's XI on Sunday, October 13.

The 34 year old joins the likes of Shane Long, Jose Fonte, Theo Walcott, Rickie Lambert, Franny Benali, Matt Le Tissier and James Beattie who have already been announced for the game.

In a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, Schneiderlin said: "Hi Saints fans, I'm really excited to say that I will be back at St Mary's on October 13.

"I can't wait to see you all and to catch up with some old friends. See you soon my friends."

Schneiderlin made 261 appearances for Saints between 2008 and 2015 before making a big-money move to Manchester United.

The 15-time France international hung up his boots in August following a spell with Greek side A.E. Kifisia.

Tickets for the charity game are priced at £3 for children and £10 for adults, with the proceeds going to the Saints Foundation, The Russell Martin Foundation, and The Ex-Saints Association.
