WINGER Ryan Fraser revealed Saints teammates have told Tyler Dibling not to change anything about his game following his breakthrough this season.

Dibling, 18, has established himself as a key figure for Russell Martin's side having made a quick start to life in the Premier League.

The Saints academy graduate hit his first senior goal in a 1-1 draw against Ipswich and ranks as one of the best creative players in the division.

Dibling is 11th for shot-creating actions per 90 minutes (5.34) and joint first - alongside Mo Salah and Luis Diaz for shot-creating actions from takeons (six).

The former Scotland international stressed the importance of Dibling staying true to his game and "running his socks off."

Fraser, who re-joined the club on a free transfer this summer, believes the tight-knit group at Staplewood has helped Dibling - and Mateus Fernandes - adjust quickly.

He said: "I've got a really good relationship with the majority of the players here, which is a bit different. Normally groups can be quite cliquey.

"It's really uncommon to have such a good group. There are no cliques. Normally you have a set of boys there and another set over there.

"They have lunch at separate times and they sit at different tables. Everyone wants to be around each other here. That sets us in good stead.

"Being a part of that last season, hopefully, I'm one of the lads the group likes - although they are probably battering me while I'm not here," he joked. "That's why I wanted to be back."

He continued: "You look at how well Tyler and Mateus have started. It's sometimes difficult to come in but we have a squad that wants to see each other do well.

"We tell Tyler not to change anything. We tell him to go into games with no fear and do what you want to do.

"If you run your socks off for 60 minutes and you get the best out of yourself, someone else will come on and finish your job for you.

"If he's going to have that mentality, he's going to be a top, top player. Mateus looks superb technically as well.

"They are good people. You can get these players who come in and are technically good but not that good for the squad. Both of them work hard.

"The boys will help them and work hard for them. Tyler will do his thing and then someone behind him will do his work for him. You will see the best of them."
