SAINTS boss Russell Martin admitted he "always feels better" when midfielder Will Smallbone is in the squad.

Irish international Smallbone has been passed fit in time to face Leicester City this afternoon at St Mary's - as has winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.

The 24 year old has missed the last five games after suffering an injury while away on international duty in

The return of Smallbone and Kamaldeen will boost Martin's available options but will also mean more players will need to be left out of the matchday squad.

"It’s never easy leaving people out of the squad," Martin told the Daily Echo: 'I had some tough conversations on Thursday.

“Unfortunately, it's part and parcel of the job. It's the worst part of the job - that you can take that hope away from some of the guys.

“I’m always honest with them and hopefully they respect that. They won't always like it.

“But yeah, Will being back for us is really big because I always feel better when Will's in the squad and he's around it."
