A new padel tennis club is set to open Southampton.
PadelStars has partnered with Trojans Club to bring the city's first padel tennis club, featuring six courts—two outdoors and four indoors.
The outdoor courts have been busy, and the indoor courts aim to keep the sport going all year round.
Padel, a mix between tennis and squash, is known for its quick learning curve and social atmosphere.
PadelStars CEO, Andy Knee, said: "PadelStars is more than just a club, it’s a community. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned padel player, PadelStars is for everyone.
"With introductory classes, individual and group lessons, open matches, social mix-ins and so much more, PadelStars ensures there’s fun to be had for all, no matter your age, gender, background or ability."
Originating in Mexico, the sport is now booming globally and is played by celebrities like David Beckham and Roger Federer.
Since 2019, padel courts in the UK have increased by 600 per cent, according to the LTA.
The centre will officially open on November 16.
