MIDFIELDER Adam Lallana has been passed for Southampton's trip to Wolves on Saturday, manager Russell Martin has confirmed.

Lallana, 36, was forced off at half-time against Everton last weekend after picking up a niggle in his groin during the first half.

Martin revealed Southampton's initial feeling was that the injury was 'nothing serious', something which has since been confirmed following a scan this week.

Former Scotland international Ryan Fraser has not played since his early withdrawal against Stoke City last week and remains unavailable this weekend.

Although the winger has been back in training, Martin admitted it is too early to include Fraser in the matchday squad again.

The boss is, however, pleased to have Lallana available and confessed the academy graduate has had an extra spring in his step this week.

"He's good," Martin told the Daily Echo. "He's trained and he's fine. I think he felt more relaxed once he knew he was fine and he hadn't been well last week.

"I told you there was a bug going around and he was one of the people (who had it). I think taking all of that into account, he was just really fatigued.

"He's had a nice spring in his step this week and he saw his old mucker, Rickie Lambert today, who's been into the training ground, which has been really nice.

"There's been lots of smiles and as he's ready. In terms of physicality, it's about how he picks and chooses moments to steal the ball or to move the team forward.

"He is amazing and his voice helps the team so much, so yeah, the more we can have him on the pitch at the minute, the better."
