SAINTS Women boss Remi Allen has urged her side to become more "ruthless" after they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Durham on Sunday.
Saints had plenty of chances to win against third-place Durham before Mollie Lambert hit a late equaliser at St Mary's.
The result leaves Southampton FC Women in fourth with 14 points from eight games, five points adrift of league leaders Birmingham, who have played an additional fixture.
Allen was left frustrated after drawing a game she felt Saints should have won and insisted her players need to "stop being nice."
She said: “It’s a really hard result to take, but that’s what happens when you don’t take your chances at the end of the day.
“We dominated the game completely. We had multiple chances to see the game off. If you don’t do that in this league, you get punished.

“Other than the set pieces, I don’t remember them having another shot on goal. One shot, one goal. We’ve had multiple chances and haven’t finished them.
“It’s a game of fine margins and we didn’t take them. We ended up drawing a game that we absolutely should have won.
“There were loads of good bits to take from it. As frustrating as it is, the fact we are creating the chances is a positive.
“There are some really nice bits but we have got to stop being nice. We need to be ruthless. That was the message at halftime and we didn’t do that.
“We have to work hard and keep going. It was a good performance with some good chances. We just have to convert them and not switch off at the back.
"We have to move on because the games are coming thick and fast. The girls will bounce back. We didn't lose. This could be a massive point in the long run."
Saints Women visit recently promoted Newcastle United on Sunday. Becky Langley's side are seventh in the division, tied on 14 points with Saints.
