ALL-ROUNDER Naomi Dattani has joined Hampshire Women ahead of the 2025 season.

Dattani signed on loan for Southern Vipers, the women’s regional team based at Utilita Bowl, for the end of the 2024 season and made an instant impact, picking up her first five-wicket haul in her second match.

Having made her county debut for Middlesex in 2008, she became the 50-over captain of the team in 2017.

She signed her first professional contract with the regional side Sunrisers before moving to Thunder in 2023.

Dattani said: “I’m really excited to join Hampshire for the upcoming season.

"I had a taste of the players and coaches last summer with Southern Brave and Southern Vipers and relished working with Charlotte Edwards and the staff here.

“I’m looking forward to calling Utilita Bowl my new home and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

In The Hundred, Dattani featured regularly for London Spirit in 2021 and 2022, and was picked up by Trent Rockets for the 2023 season before head coach Charlotte Edwards drafted her for Southern Brave in 2024.

Across the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy and Charlotte Edwards Cup, Dattani claimed 42 wickets and scored 1,124 runs, whilst she took five wickets and scored 215 runs in the Hundred.

Adam Carty, regional director of women’s cricket, said: “In Naomi we have experience, a three dimensional, dual format, match winner, who has the ambition, focus, and self- awareness to be an integral player for Hampshire in 2025.

“We are very pleased with Naomi’s signing and share her excitement at what the future might bring for her in yellow and blue.”

Dattani spent the final three games of the 2024 season on loan from Thunder to Southern Vipers, where she claimed her maiden professional five wicket haul, as she picked up 5-51 against Sunrisers at Utilita Bowl.
