SUMMER signing Ronnie Edwards admitted he needed time to "find his feet" as a Saints defender but now he is "patiently" waiting his turn.
Edwards, 21, was one of the English Football League's hottest prospects when Saints paid Peterborough United £3million for his signature in July.
Having come through non-league Barnet, Edwards made 142 appearances for Posh as they competed in the Championship and League One play-offs.
However, his only appearance for Russell Martin's side was in the 5-3 Carabao Cup win at Cardiff City and Edwards is yet to make a Premier League squad.
Martin could open the door for a loan move in January but his first few months at the club have been about rigorously learning a new style of football.

"I'd say I have been finding my feet, just getting used to it. Now it's just sort of being patient and waiting for my turn," Edwards told the Daily Echo.
"I'm always a team player. I'm always going to be good around the boys and never be a bad egg. It's just waiting now and hopefully, I get my opportunity.
"Learning our way of playing took a little while at the start but I feel like now I know how he (Martin) wants to play and it's just being patient."
Edwards was England's under-20s captain throughout 2023/24 but his lack of involvement has meant he has dropped out of the St George's Park set-up.
Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony believes Edwards will eventually become a "£50million player" when he reaches his full potential.
For now, Edwards watches on from the sidelines and urges Saints fans to stay calm as they battle against relegation from the Premier League.
"I think we just have to keep believing. I think we've got the quality, we've got the players, we've got the staff, management, the togetherness," said Edwards.
"We've just got to be patient and grind it out. We always knew it was going to be tough. It's just sticking together and hoping that it can all come together."
