SAINTS head coach Jan Poortvliet is sweating on the fitness of Morgan Schneiderlin ahead of Sheffield Wednesday’s visit to St Mary’s.
The French midfielder came off in the closing stages of last weeks 0-0 draw at Charlton suffering with a hamstring injury and Saints will assess whether he will recover in time this morning.
Poortvliet was happy to report that Schneiderlin, 19, is his one and only injury concern ahead of the meeting with Wednesday.
And if Schneiderlin is passed fit, Poortvliet is set to name an unchanged starting XI for the fourth game running.
The Dutchman said yesterday: “The only doubt is Morgan. I thought it was cramp (against Charlton) but his hamstring is a little tight.
“So we have to wait until tomorrow morning because he hasn’t done any training with the group.
“He is training on his own and I don’t know what his state will be.”
