Saints have swooped to sign Dutch defender Jan-Paul Saeijs.
The 30-year-old centre half has joined on loan until the end of the season.
Saeijs has been at Dutch top flight side Roda JC since 2006 and is a big, imposing 6ft 3in defender.
Saints are hoping the paperwork will be completed by the league in time for him to face Barnsley on Saturday.
