SOUTHAMPTON'S cold snap has ended the chances of Adam Lallana returning in time to face Barnsley tomorrow.

The Saints midfielder has been with the first team again this week after recovering from his ankle injury.

But the freezing cold weather has forced the players to train inside the dome at Staplewood rather than on frozen pitches outside.

That has meant that Lallana has not be able to test his ankle out on a grass pitch.

And because of that Saints won’t risk him at Oakwell with the intention of having him ready to face Doncaster at St Mary’s the following week.

Jan Poortvliet said: “Adam Lallana is the only one who is injured and that is also due to the bad weather.

“Otherwise he would have trained with us but it was not possible for him to test his ankle because of the hard ground.
