Jan Poortvliet has called on his team to win two of their next three “massive” games to ease their relegation worries.

The Saints head coach knows that it is crunch time in the battle to stay in the Championship.

Saints travel to Barnsley tomorrow before games against fellow bottom six strugglers Doncaster at St Mary’s and Norwich at Carrow Road in what are make or break fixtures.

Poortvliet has stopped short of calling on his side to make a clean sweep of nine points from the three matches after having his fingers burned with his previous target this season.

On October 14, Poortvliet urged his side to take 18 points from their next ten league games.

Since that time, Saints have had 16 league matches and taken just 12 points!
