EX-SAINTS striker James Beattie is poised to sign for Stoke City.
The 30-year-old is set to join the swelling ranks of former Southampton players at the Britannia Stadium.
Stoke City have agreed a £2.5m fee with Sheffield United, who signed Beattie for £4m from Everton in 2007.
The former Saints-skipper joined the Toffees for a fee for £6m in January 2005.
Beattie is not expected to sign for the Potters before this weekend's clash with Liverpool.
He will be playing alongside ex-Saints Rory Delap, Danny Higginbotham, Ricardo Fuller, Andrew Davies and Vincent Pericard.
