Jan Poortvliet has urged his players to “give something back” to the loyal St Mary’s fans who have seen just one home league win all term.
Though attendances have been down at Saints this season, the hardcore supporters have turned up week after week and been rewarded by good displays but poor results.
One home league win in 13 speaks for itself, but with a massive clash against relegation rivals Doncaster tomorrow a victory is of paramount importance.
That would be a great way to mark the first home league match of 2009.
Poortvliet said: “The fans have been very good this season and have supported us well. It’s up to us now to give them something back."
