RUPERT LOWE has called for crisis talks at Saints this morning, as the pressure intensifies on head coach Jan Poortvliet.
The PLC chairman said, as of last night, the Dutchman had his full support.
However, Lowe said he, Poortvliet and the players would meet today to discuss how Saints move forward.
Lowe is keen to find a solution to the club’s dismal home form.
Saints have won just one of 14 league games at St Mary’s this season – compared to five away.
“We are all meeting today and when we have met and all discussed things we will decide what course of action to take,” Lowe told the Daily Echo.
“Right now, as I sit here, Jan has my full support.”
This morning will be the first time Lowe has been able to speak to Poortvliet since Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to relegation rivals Doncaster.
The head coach has been in Holland since the loss, as the players had Sunday and Monday off.
Lowe refused to speculate on what the outcome of the meeting could be and whether Poortvliet’s position could be at risk.
However, he said whatever decisions were reached had to be in the best interests of the club.
“We have got to do what is right for the club,”
he said.
