JAN Poortvliet came through this morning's crunch meeting at Saints unscathed and in a fighting mood.
The head coach met with PLC chairman Rupert Lowe and the Saints players at Staplewood, in a bid to help find a solution to the club's dismal home form.
The meeting was called in the wake of Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Doncaster.
The pressure on Poortvliet increased following the home loss against the relegation rivals and there was speculation his job could be at risk.
The Dutchman said he was well aware of that, but believed minds had been sharpened as a result of the talks.
"I think it was great this morning," he said. "Everyone talked, it was good and the boys know what to do.
He added: "I think we have to work even harder, because I think it's a fight."
