EASTLEIGH put themselves back in their manager's good books, and kept their play-off hopes afloat, with a deserved victory against in-form Bath City.
Centre-backs Tom Jordan and Aaron Martin got the Eastleigh goals, within five minutes of each other midway through the second half.
And the performance and victory was just the reaction Spitfires boss Ian Baird was looking for, and expected, after his side’s 3-1 home loss to the Romans’ city rivals, Team Bath, on Saturday.
“I knew that I would get a reaction because we have got a good set of lads,” Baird said.
“It’s a good result and it keeps us in the chasing pack. For how bad we were on Saturday we were that much better tonight.”
