MARK Wotte admitted Saints must be more clinical in front of goal between now and the end of the season.
Saints could only manage a 0-0 draw with beleaguered QPR at St Mary’s.
That result followed Tuesday’s disappointing 1-1 stalemate at home with Derby.
Although chances were hard to come by for both sides at the weekend, Jason Euell and Andrew Surman each missed golden opportunities to claim all three points against the Londoners.
After three victories in a row, Saints are now winless in their last three.
Wotte said they have to be better in front of goal when the chances come along.
“Of course we wanted at least four points from two home games and we tried,” he said.
“In both matches we didn’t quite take our chances quite clinically enough.
“You need to pull the trigger to get three points and we lacked a little bit of that up front.”
