SAINTS winger Lee Holmes is “dying” to help the club’s survival bid by completing his latest return from injury.
The 21-year-old has been out of action with medial ligament damage in his right knee since the end of January, but took part in his first full training session yesterday.
Holmes suffered the problem during Saints’ 2-2 draw with Norwich at Carrow Road – Mark Wotte’s first game in charge.
It was a recurrence of the injury he sustained in the 4-1 loss at QPR in September, which kept him sidelined for three months.
Holmes, who signed on a free transfer in the summer after his contract with Derby expired, is desperate to return and help Saints out of the Championship relegation zone.
“I can’t say enough, I’m dying to get back,” he told the Daily Echo.
“These are the games you want to be involved in, where it means something."
