Some of Saints’ fringe players have the chance to prove they have what it takes to keep the club afloat after Mark Wotte admitted he will not get a loan player in before tomorrow’s deadline.
The Saints head coach has always maintained he would only draft in a loan player before the window closes tomorrow evening if they would instantly improve his team.
But, with finances at the club still so tight, that has proved impossible.
Wotte will therefore rely on his current crop of players to keep the club in the Championship and is hoping the likes of Ollie Lancashire, Zoltan Liptak, Matt Paterson and Ryan Smith will show him they are ready for the final fight when they play for the reserves against Reading at Aldershot today.
