Mark Wotte will debrief his players at Staplewood today before taking a break and waiting for the phone to ring.
The Saints head coach is in the same boat as many of the players, having to wait and see what happens with the ownership of the club before discovering what future he has at St Mary’s.
Wotte has put in place provisional pre-season plans should he remain in charge but admits it is harder to do much more than that at this stage.
Nobody has any idea whether the club will be sold and if it is what the means of the new owners will be so it will be a case of waiting to hear for Wotte.
He said: “We have to wait for decisions to be made by the administrator and whether he is able to sell the club to interested people.
“Until then I’m just going to prepare pre-season.
“The boys are in today and then they have a holiday and we wait for news to come from the administrator.
“Until then nobody can say anything because if you sell the football club the people who are going to buy will be in charge and you have to wait for what kind of ideas they have.
“We can only prepare pre-season and we have almost finished that and then we sit back and wait.”
