FANS are being urged to attend this weekend’s Saints Aid activities at St Mary’s to help a ‘forgotten’ group affected by the club’s cash crisis.
According to Saints Trust chairman Nick Illingsworth, it is the club employees who everyone should be thinking about ... and NOT the overpaid members the squad who helped get the club relegated.
Several members of the Saints behind the scenes staff have helped the Trust to organise this weekend’s Saints Aid funday and music concerts.
“A lot of the people at the club, the behind the scenes staff, have given their time free to help us,” said Illingsworth.
“In terms of the organisation of Saints Aid and the fun day, lots of people are helping out free of charge.
“I’m talking about the groups of people like the stewards, and all this is helping to reduce the costs.
“As far as I’m concerned this week is the most important week in the history of Southampton FC.
“We really do need all the fans to step up to the plate.
