FORMER Saints midfielder Jim Magilton has been announced as the new Queens Park Rangers manager.
Magilton, 40, has signed a two-year deal at the London club.
The Northern Irishman made 152 appearances for Southampton in all competitions between February 1994 and September 1997, when he left for Sheffield Wednesday.
From there he moved to Ipswich, where he eventually became manager.
He was sacked towards the end of last season after the Tractor Boys failed to make it to the play-offs.
