SAINTS could be returning to their roots, according to speculation this morning.
It has been reported that the club's new kit will be a return to the original St. Mary's Young Men Association's kit from 1885.
St. Mary's YMA wore a white kit with a diagonal red sash between 1885 and 1889.
That team went on to eventually become Southampton Football Club.
Following Flybe's decision not to renew their sponsorship of the club, Saints have vowed not to put a sponsor on replica kits next season, as part of the 125 anniversary of the club.
In 2001, Southampton played their last game at The Dell in red and white quarters, in homage to the first kit they ever wore at the ground back in 1898.
