SAINTS sold over 10,000 tickets for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final on their first day of sale yesterday.
Season tickets holders have all this week to claim up to two seats each for the showpiece match against Carlisle at Wembley on Sunday, March 28.
Despite there being comfortably enough tickets available to satisfy all season ticket holders, there has been a huge initial rush.
As a result some people have found themselves struggling to get through to the St Mary’s ticket office.
The club admitted they did have a technical issue with some phone calls but the problem has been rectified.
Half of the tickets sold yesterday were via the phone.
The online booking system has also come under fire from a few fans as people have struggled to log on, but 29 per cent tickets were sold via this method.
Some fans have also turned up at the St Mary’s ticket office to try and purchase tickets but Saints are not selling them over the counter.
SAINTS fans will get the chance to get their hands on the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy next Tuesday - see today's Daily Echo for details.
