Michael Wilde will next week face Saints fans to tell them about his brave new world.

The Saints Trust have been told the majority shareholder has "provisionally" agreed to fly in from his Jersey base to attend a members' meeting next Thursday, June 1, at a venue to be decided.

That is the same day as Saints hold their football club board EGM to vote off rebel directors Keith Wiseman, Brian Hunt and Ian Gordon.

The Wilde camp are still hopeful that the EGM called nine days ago will never take place.

But whether it does or not, Wilde has still told the Trust he will meet Saints supporters for the first time.

Trust chairman Steve Godwin said: "We would hope that Michael Wilde and his proposed board will come along and get up on stage.

"I'd imagine they would get a fairly smooth ride, but there might be some tough questions.

"I know Andrew Cowen said he wants more information on what Michael Wilde plans to do, but Wilde doesn't have to provide that information.

"But if he didn't, that might negate some of his support."

The Trust remain hopeful that if they can boost their membership to around 2,000 they might end up with representation on any new-look board Wilde pieces together should he take over.

At present, they have almost 600 members in just four months since forming - as well as over 560,000 shares, more than the individual holdings of joint managing director Andrew Cowen and non-executive director David Jones.

Godwin said: "You don't have to be a shareholder to join the Trust - this is not a shareholders trust at all.

"The majority of our members are not shareholders - I'd say only about 25 per cent hold shares.

"The Trust is for all fans - the more members we have, the bigger our collective voice."

The Daily Echo today prints a Trust membership form which anyone wishing to bring along to next week's meeting can just fill in and hand in on the night.

Alternatively, you can fill in the form and send it off to the address shown on the form.
